I have said my favorite hobby is running, that’s not entirely true. I put it third to spending time with my kids and cooking. The perfect storm is when I get to make something, with my daughter, to help my fitness. Today’s project – peanut butter protein bars. I also procured a new Kitchen Aid mixer so that makes it quadruple awesome.
Here’s the recipe. I used Muscle Milk Light protein powder, high fiber cinnamon oatmeal, and Jif. I mixed everything together in a large mixing bowl and spread it in a small square cake pan. I cooked it for about 15 minutes at 350, let cool, sliced and bagged.
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 cup peanut butter
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 ½ cups of whey protein powder
- 2 cups dry uncooked oatmeal
If it makes 16 bars that puts the protein around 8 grams, the fat around 7 grams, 2-4 grams of fiber, and about 150 calories. I cut mine into 9 bars – You do your own math.
