My weekend running fitness challenge.
ByI stumble across, via blog rolls, many very good blogs. One I read is So Long Fat Ass (here) and I am not sure if it’s the title of his blog or his ability to intertwine Star Wars and Fitness (my attempt coming shortly) that is so catchy but I like it all the same.
Brandon has asked readers to post a fitness challenge for the Easter weekend and report on the results. Since I have a 1/2 marathon in less than two weeks I am going to make mine mileage centered. I have been running for a while and don’t recommend new runners doing high mileage runs the weekend before an event – just a disclaimer.
My goal is simple. 16 miles in 3 days, broken down 9, 4, and 3. The challenging part is I am traveling to see my in laws, who can cook, and my father-in-law loves beer; as do I. They also live in the hill country and I hate hill running. So it should be interesting. I will report back. Thanks for the challenge Brandon!
